Last evenings meeting was blessed with a very interesting insight to the history of Newton Aycliffe by our local council colleague and friend Amanda Donald.
Excellent talk and memory provoking historic photos of our town.

Amanda is also looking for personal stories, photos and memories that the people of our town would like to share with others. Please contact her at Great Aycliffe Town Council on 01325 300700

Tuesday saw a very entertaining and humorous evening provide by Bev & David with Bev promoting her new book “The Tidy Up Terrors”, a story about a boy and his untidy bedroom!

Continuous laughter and giggles which ended in a sing-a-long to Clean it up!

Many thanks to Gail Anderson for arranging a very entertaining speaker and to David Anderson for hosting.

Congratulations to Bev for her new book and all the best for the future from all of us.

Dan Austin, the Town Clerk of Great Aycliffe Town Council was our guest speaker at last nights meeting, and what a speaker he was.

Giving us a great insight into not only himself but into the council and the passion that he and his colleagues have for our town.

Excellent speaker, admirable person and a credit to our town

A comment was made that the people of Newton Aycliffe are very fortunate to have Dan working for them.

Many thanks from us all at Rotary Great Aycliffe and we look forward to working together in the future.

A Gaggle of Guests (or something like that), the 13th Feb was a very busy and light hearted evening with various guests in attendance including the Mayor and Mayoress of Newton Aycliffe, Carl & Carol Robinson, Assistant governor Gary Blenkinsopp, guest speaker John Bean, two prospective members Mr & Mrs Clarke as well as president Geoff being checked up on by his wife Olwyn.

What an entertaining night! An evening of Church of England anecdotes and quotes from church newsletters by Rev. Peter Robson.

.Totally unexpected “Talk” which resulted in a very entertaining and humorous evening for all
